Technical Writer

Parsons is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Writer to join our team! The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing technical documents for publication, including reports, guides, and presentations, specifically related to engineering disciplines. This role requires a strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
What You'll Be Doing:
Develop, write, and edit technical documents, including user manuals, reports, guides, and presentations.
Collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect changes in technology, processes, and standards.
Ensure all documents meet company standards for quality, style, and format.
Use various tools and software to create and manage documentation.
Review and edit content created by other team members for clarity, grammar, and consistency.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and engineering.
Review proposals for grammar, tense, and overall structure, providing recommendations for improvement.
Integrate lessons learned from previous projects into new proposals to demonstrate the firm's expertise and past successes
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Degree in Business Administration, English/Journalism or related field (or equivalent).
At least 5+ years of relevant experience from similar indsutry.
Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in keyboard skills and a working knowledge of MS Windows and related software including Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe InDesign.
Accuracy, attention to detail, consistency, and clarity in conformance with required formats and standards.
Some familiarity with production scheduling and related processes is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Proficiency with documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant software.
Familiarity with engineering concepts and terminology.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems.
Knowledge of graphic design and multimedia tools.
Certification in Technical Writing or related field.
