Job Title: Engineering Leadership Development Program (Various Locations)Job Location: Various LocationsDescription: L3Harris'Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) is a challenging 3-year rotational program created to accelerate the development of highly qualified, motivated engineers by exposing them to different program types, business units, geographic locations and elements of the design life cycle. Additionally, participants will have access to mentorship, forums and learning sessions, training, and cross functional engagement to accelerate their career growth. Participants will be matched into rotations depending on their interest and discipline track, including Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and more.
Software Engineer Job Duties:
Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application
Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system
Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test of embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment
Develop software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation
Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results
Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects
Utilize a variety of software languages (i.e., C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt) on Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, Windows CE, and others for Motorola, Intel, TI, and custom processor designs)
System Engineer Job Duties:
Perform operational analysis and develop concept of operations, design and implementation plans
Develop test plans, procedures & cases
Conduct tests and document results
Use software tools, scripting and software/hardware troubleshooting
Analyze systems requirements from end systems and users
Supports development and evaluation of complex system designs and architectures
Develop and deliver presentations to communicate design activity plans and status to internal and external customers
Electrical Engineer Job Duties:
Design, analyze, modify, test and evaluate FPGA and programmable hardware
Design complex Circuit Card Assemblies to support Avionics and Space customer's photonic subsystems and integrated communication systems
Digital Design requires programmable logic, VHDL language and digital communications systems knowledge
Modem Design (including SATCOM, wireless, cellular and software defined radios) requires knowledge of digital communications systems, waveform generation and signal processing, FPGA design (in VHDL) and familiarity with Digital Signal Processors chips
DSP design positions require knowledge of digital signal processing techniques, algorithm development, software coding and simulation/modeling using MATLAB
RF/Microwave Device testing and evaluation including s-parameter, large signal load pull characterization as well as modulated signal measurements
Must have familiarity with common commercial RF design and analysis tools to design and analyze RF circuits and systems (i.e. ADS, HFSS, CST, MATLAB, etc.)
Determine design approaches and parameters. Analyze electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results
Design and modify tests to verify the operational state of various L3Harris products and accessories
Test, analyze, and evaluate the requirements compliance of L3 Harris hardware products
Utilize tools such as network analyzers and LabVIEW
Mechanical Engineering Job Duties:
Structural analysis of aircraft modifications, including design support, and preparation of technical documentation necessary to ensure airworthiness
Determination of stress levels in primary and secondary aircraft structure, systems, and equipment resulting from applied and induced loads, as well as the comparison of these stresses with material properties to predict failure and structural instabilities given due consideration to applicable failure theories
