Job Description: This role is for 2nd shift and would provide quality inspection support to the program. Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications, and lists to approve or reject units, test setups, or systems for in-process or final assemblies.
Inspection support includes verification of the build of the following items: CCAs, modules, chassis-level inspection, as well as test readiness activities, and test monitoring. This role would also interface with Quality Engineers and Product Line Managers to discuss the suitability of inspected parts/materials.
Essential Functions:
Inspect mechanical and electrical hardware to determine if product meets acceptance or rejection criteria as identified in applicable work procedures.
Verification of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing against engineering drawings.
Utilize measurement devices/tools such as Calipers, Height Gauge, Optical Comparator, micrometers, scales and dimensional measurement systems.
Utilize surface plates, precision measuring tools, gauges (blocks) and other mechanical inspection tools/tooling.
Document non-conformances and take photos of discrepancies.
Communication with Quality Engineers to determine product disposition.
Communication with Product Line Managers to determine daily workflow.
Visual inspections of hardware using microscopes and magnifying lens.
Review Supplier documentation for adherence to Quality Clauses and Drawing Notes.
Support in evaluating First Article Inspection reports, CMM reports, material certifications.
Inspect per IPC, ESD, Solder, CCA inspection, module, and chassis level inspection experience.
Qualifications:
Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Experience interpreting 2-D drawings and knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience in mechanical inspections utilizing inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, surface plate, electronic and mechanical height gages, pin gages, comparator)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

Experience working in a Receiving Inspection department inspecting small complex mechanical parts.
