Job Description:
As a Senior Scientist, Systems Engineer/Chief Systems Engineer you will contribute to a Systems Engineering team in requirements development, design, development, implementation, testing and training of/for radar systems, command and control systems, large IT infrastructures, and ground systems for our warfighters. This position supports the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) division, a great team of talented professionals with world class technical expertise who take a collaborative approach to engineering and enjoy working together. In this position, you will bring your systems engineering background to a chief system engineering role where you can make a broad impact to programs and projects that are critical to our customers!
Essential Functions:
Possess end to end technical systems architecture experience with relevant past performance in multi-domain live virtual constructive environment for Space Control, Electronic Warfare, and Cyber Operations i.e., Space Warfighting
Mod/Sim and Wargaming experience directly applicable to National Space Test & Training Complex (NSTTC-O (Orbital), -E (Electronic [Warfare]), -D (Digital), and -C (Cyber); as well as future DoD + IC Operational Test & Training Infrastructure (OTTI) investments
Cutting edge USSF Space as a Warfighting domain specific training
Align to strategic end-state for Sector's Space Warfighting Mission Engineering and Space Warfighting Algorithms IRAD initiatives
Lead a technical team as the Chief Systems Engineer that include: responsibility for the technical execution on the program, customer interfacing and interactions, preparing and presenting briefings to internal leadership and external customers
Develop technical baselines and reference architectures for standard designs and solutions.
Conduct overall Systems Engineering and Integration for technology maturation, design, development, prototyping, demonstration and testing
Support mission operations, wargame and exercises, testing, modeling and simulation.
Effectively integrate, manage, and communicate within and between all technical areas.
Design, develop, integrate, operate, and sustain a secure and reliable information management architecture and infrastructure for mission systems, enabling a continuous operational readiness posture.
Demonstrated understanding of sustaining, maintaining and modernizing large, complex infratructures and systems.
Defining the technical approach for customer requirements and then implementing their solutions.
Decomposing PWS requirements into requirements that are testable.
Developing basis of estimates for scope of work.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
Active US government TS/SCI security clearance.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or adjacent field.
Certified Mod/Sim Professional (CMSP).
Background in Space Warfighting, Space Control, and Electronic Warfare.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Ph.D
Experience supporting DoD/government customers
Familiarity with Agile development principles
Familiarity with space mission operations
Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to build teams with external entities (i.e. other companies)
Organized and detail-oriented
Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $153,500 - $285,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), EAP, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
