Job Description:
Engineering Finance professional with strong knowledge of financial analytics and tools. Works on complex projects or processes with minimal oversight. Communicates throughout the Engineering and Finance organizations to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures, and provides reporting and analytics to ensure Engineering management excellence. Makes ongoing moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of department goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
Essential Functions:
Interact with all levels of Engineering management to guide monthly IRAD and VEDA forecasting and reporting process. Open/close and monitor associated projects.
Provide monthly project variance analysis, and work with project teams to identify variance drivers and research anomalies.
Respond to ad hoc research requests from Engineering teams.
Work with teams to monitor and communicate AOP/Plan variances and requirements.
Provide BPO Distribution support to ensure proper expense recording.
Provide back-up support for ICP system, RPM project opening, and other support as required.
Maintain reports as required.
Ability to obtain a US TYPE (example: Secret) Security Clearance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
Strong analytic and technical skills required (expertise in Excel and familiarity with modeling and database structures; Microsoft Office).
Strong communication skills required with the ability to easily work across all levels of management. Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with advance Excel functions to include pivots, macros, and data mining techniques.
Access experience a plus.
Strong preference to candidates with experience in an Engineering, Finance and/or Program Finance role.
Experience with PeopleSoft a plus.
