Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Project Manager – Rail Systems & Safety to join our team with experience in the execution of Automated People Mover (APM) related projects. The Senior Project Manager will develop in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. The range of work will include airport infrastructure, rail (APM) and other means of transit.
In this role you will get to provide technical leadership and direction for various phases of a significant rail and transit programs to assure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.
What You'll Be Doing:
As required, act as the company representative and team leader with the Client during the APM program execution.
Lead unusually complex asset challenges and provides solutions that are highly creative, in coordination with the Client and other delivery leads.
Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Ensure adhere to relevant industry regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols. Supervise necessary permits and approvals required from relevant authorities.
Establish quality standards for rail and transit projects. Conduct periodic inspections to ensure work meets established standards and specifications.
Assists business development in understanding client issues and business plans to market and secure new/additional work within the context of role.
Leads technical excellence on the project, including furtherance of the Quality improvement processes of the client and Parsons.
Mobilizes company resources, through effective liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths. Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.
Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule.
Participate in discussion with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
Oversees establishment of Project Management Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
Works with the key project staff, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
Completes other responsibilities associated with the position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree In Engineering, Architecture or equivalent from a recognized university.
Master’s Degree is preferred.
Chartered Engineer status is ideal.
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in technical project management of similar scope. Has good background in strategy and engineering experience in the airports industry or similar industry.
Must demonstrate sound knowledge of Safety Assurance and Regulatory Compliance.
Practiced the application and development of RAM and Safety analyses following the EN-50126 suite of standards, as well as other standards such as MIL-STD-882.
Familiar with working according to the requirements of the ISO/IEC/IEEE-15288 System Engineering Standard
Automated People Mover implementation experience is a must or related experience in managing rail execution at an airport
GCC experience is preferred.
Must have experience at senior management/director level as well as having extensive experience in client facing roles.
Must understand the requirements of an airfield for construction and operation.
