Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Director to join our team. Parsons is providing Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for the development of Mega projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Design Director must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong understanding of design principles and processes. Stadium experience or experience in large-scale public venues is preferred due to the specialized nature of such projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop and implement design strategies and processes to ensure successful completion of projects
- Lead and manage a team of design professionals to ensure successful completion of projects
- Oversee the design process from concept to completion
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are met
- Ensure design standards are met and maintained
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Analyze and evaluate design trends and technologies to ensure projects are up to date
- Develop and implement design policies and procedures
- Provide guidance and mentorship to design team members
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Manage third party design consultants
- Supervise and participate in advanced complex professional planning activities.
- Assigns work to professional staff and ensures appropriate training is provided.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local and international standards.
- Advise the Planning Director on all planning-related matters.
- Develop technical inputs to support the delivery of high-quality plans, reports, and presentations.
- Implement required measures during the project management process and lead the team by resolving any problems, technical issues or deviations from plans to ensure that project progress is maintained as per plan.
- Maintain contact and coordination with the multiple external agencies involved in the translation of the Government’s development mandate and master plan objectives into work plans through maintaining meaningful working relationships to facilitate a shared understanding
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional registration in Engineering, architecture, or related field
- 25+ years of experience in design management, with stadium or large public venue design experience preferred.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary diverse team.

- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of engineering and design principles
