Olsten Staffing is assisting a local client in Marshville, North Carolina to find an experienced and eager Safety Director to join their growing team.
The safety director will be responsible for the design, execution, and management of all safety programs.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Review and update EWP Policies and Procedure.
Direct and assist in random and suspicion drug testing.
Direct all Safety and Health Programs at all EWPI locations to include.
Direct all OSHA required training and new employee orientation training.
Administer all rolling stock and specific machine training.
Complete routine safety inspections.
Accident investigation, root cause, and correction.
File Workers Compensation claims with insurance and follow through until the case has closed.
Attend and advise on all Workers Compensation mediations.
Work with and coordinate Workers Compensation Loss Control and General Liability inspections and meetings.
Set up and coordinate yearly or as needed Workers Compensation Claims review.
Transport and direct medical care for injured to include follow up until the case is closed.
Perform First Aid for minor injuries.
Monitor job hazard analysis, Lock Out/Tag Out, Safety Meetings, Safety Committees, and Safety Inspection walk through.
Monitor chemical inventories in accordance with local and state guidelines and fire department.
Direct and coordinate with NC Department of Air Quality, Water Quality.
Maintain quarterly Supervisor Safety Bonus Program for all EWPI location.
Maintain and determine criteria eligibility for Safety LO/TO program.
Maintain and direct EWPI Employee Suggestion Program.
Direct and update NCDOL SHARP Consultative Program yearly.
Maintain and submit Safety Management Assessment of statistics to NCDOL OSHA Consultative Division.
Meet with and review EWPI Safety Manual/Program and inspections with OSHA when re-certification is due.
Inspect and ensure that First Aid cabinets are always stocked properly.
Direct and coordinate Annual Audiometric and Pulmonary testing for all EWPI locations as required by OSHA.
Direct and monitor authorized EWPI Drivers DMV records annually.
Direct and review all EWPI Security Guards as on call 24/7.
Direct and coordinate visits and concerns from local law enforcement.
Assist with Duke Energy meter reading issues and locations and contact with any power failure issues.
Direct/assist purchasing with town water and work to resolve any meter discrepancies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
Previous multi-site safety management experience required
OSHA certifications preferred
Previous manufacturing experience highly preferred
Previous sawmill experience preferred
Follow established EWPI safety rules and regulations

Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year
