Job Ad: Mechanic / Test Technician - 2nd Shift
Pay Rate: $16-$32/hr
Location: Stratford, CT
Our client:
Our client is a leading aerospace and defense contractor. This is a temporary position (W2 Only) in Stratford, CTand is an excellent opportunity for the right individual. The contract is expected to last approximately 1 year. With the opportunity to convert permanently. This role is on-site, so you should be comfortable commuting to Stratford. Position Responsibilities:
Interpret and work from mechanical schematics, engineering drawings, work orders, and technical documents.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Control, Manufacturing, vendors, and customer representatives during equipment definition, buildup, testing, and acceptance.
Conduct functional checkouts and operational testing of mechanical systems and support equipment installations.
Operate and maintain support equipment and conduct equipment performance analyses.
Identify and resolve issues within test facilities and recommend equipment, sub-assembly, and process improvements.
Maintain a safe working environment, even around potentially hazardous conditions.
Work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience operating non-automated, stand-alone equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of Mechanics Trade School.
Prior military mechanic experience.
Experience with aircraft hydraulics and mechanical systems.
Experience with large industrial hydraulic power supplies and distribution systems.
