Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Intelligent Transportation Systems Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to work within a new PMO working on major highways / infrastructure projects in the KSA Capital, Riyadh City.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Serve as a key liaison with clients, understanding their requirements and ensuring the seamless integration of ITS solutions and design delivery.
- Review contract specifications, implementation methodology, and standards, identifying gaps and making recommendations for improvements.
- Lead the design of ITS equipment and communications infrastructure including fiber optic and wireless technologies, CCTV, Dynamic Message Signs, and sensor technologies.
- Participate effectively in the development of city-wide ITS architecture, systems engineering analysis, and plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) development for ITS and smart mobility systems.
- Develop a comprehensive project plans / shop drawings for the construction of ITS infrastructure, communications backbone, pilot areas, ITS device locations, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with Parsons ITS team and subject matter experts from other projects, fostering cooperation and sharing knowledge and experience.
- Responsible for direct coordination and follow up with the clients and stakeholders to identify requirements and finalize project scope. Make necessary presentations, reports to present progress and milestones.
Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately. Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Transportation Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of related work experience.
Experience in reviewing third party designs and coordinating comments for approval
Experience of working within a multi-discipline team environment
Proactive approach to own activities and helping in other disciplines, as far as practically possible, to assist in PMO overall efficiency
Systems, with a focus on ITS design planning, implementation, and Smart Mobility.
- Experience with leading the development of complete ITS Plans, Specs and Estimate packages.
- Solid Experience developing ITS technologies and ITS Concept of Operations Reports.
- In-depth knowledge of traffic management technologies, Co-operative-ITS, ITS standards, and future mobility trends.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and present technical information to diverse audiences.
- MicroStation and/or AutoCAD knowledge.
