Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Commercial Cost & Procurement Director to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all procurement functions, including purchasing, expediting, supplier management, and quality control, for major domestic or international projects, ensuring seamless execution and cost management.
What You'll Be Doing:
Leadership and Direction: Lead and manage all procurement activities for high-value projects (typically over $50M), including purchasing, expediting, supplier data control, supplier quality, and traffic management.
Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies, addressing both routine and complex issues to optimize procurement processes.
Client Relations: Represent the Procurement Department in client meetings, ensuring strong relationships and client satisfaction by providing timely, accurate procurement information and support.
Legislative Awareness: Stay updated on relevant procurement regulations and legislation, advising management on necessary policy changes to maintain compliance.
Market Research and Strategy: Continuously monitor global markets, suppliers, and industry trends to inform strategic procurement decisions and optimize project outcomes.
Financial Oversight: Establish procurement budgets, schedules, and plans, ensuring goals are met or exceeded while maintaining financial and operational efficiency.
Staff Leadership and Development: Manage, mentor, and oversee the procurement team, ensuring they meet project and quality objectives while fostering professional growth.
Quality Improvement: Drive the Quality Improvement Process and promote technical excellence, ensuring compliance with internal standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
Business Development: Contribute to proposal preparation, client presentations, and business development efforts, representing the procurement function in securing new opportunities.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: Typically 15+ years of diversified experience in procurement management on large-scale global engineering and construction projects, with significant leadership experience.
Skills: Extensive knowledge of procurement processes, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex procurement functions across multiple teams and projects. Proficiency with DMCS (or similar material control systems) is required.
Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of industry regulations, cost management, and supply chain best practices within the engineering and construction sector.
