Cisco/Splunk is looking for an experienced B2B content writer for a short-term assignment to join our corporate storytelling team. As the Content Marketing Manager , you'll create compelling customer success stories and thought leadership articles for our executive hub, Perspectives . Additionally, you may be tasked with editing projects to support the broader team.
This role requires the ability to transform complex ideas into engaging narratives, connecting cybersecurity, observability, ITOps, and AI topics with Splunk's solutions. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a similar B2B SaaS role, a strong portfolio showcasing executive thought-leadership content, and a knack for crafting customer case studies that resonate.
Responsibilities
Conduct interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs) and customers to craft impactful stories that showcase how Splunk's cybersecurity and observability solutions create value.
Synthesize technical materials, including sales presentations and messaging briefs, into compelling narratives that balance big-picture storytelling with technical precision.
Collaborate with messaging and solutions marketing teams to identify target audiences, persona needs, and key messages for outlining and producing engaging B2B content.
Adhere to Splunk's voice, tone, and editorial style guidelines, ensuring consistency and brand alignment.
Required Skills
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a B2B technology content marketing or writing role. A strong portfolio is essential, demonstrating expertise in case studies, executive thought leadership, and web-friendly content.
Writing Skills: Exceptional vocabulary, grammar, and style. Ability to adopt Splunk's brand voice and create engaging, skimmable content tailored to various audiences.
Storytelling: Talent for creating emotionally resonant stories that captivate and inform readers.
Subject Matter Expertise: Familiarity with cybersecurity, IT, and engineering audiences, and the ability to translate complex topics into accessible and compelling content.
Collaboration & Organization: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptability: Skilled in interpreting and following corporate style guidelines and adapting to evolving project needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience marketing to IT, cybersecurity, and engineering professionals.
Knowledge of Splunk solutions or similar SaaS platforms is a plus.

Pay Details: $70.40 per hour
