A Machinist will be expected to maintain a variety of equipment used commonly for manufacturing, machining, fabrication, design, assembly/disassembly, and CNC operations. Working in a high technology, dynamic environment, and producing a quality of work with high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

Range Requirement:
Operate and maintain equipment used commonly for manufacturing, machining, fabrication, design, assembly/disassembly, and CNC operations.
Working with customer to define and capture requirements, planning and executing work packages, tracking work performed in Maximo, estimating materials consumption and fabrication timelines.
Familiarity with NAVOSH safety standards, HAZWASTE collection, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene.
Carrying out task according to cost, schedule and priority.
Assist and/or provide work direction to lower-level technicians.
Job Summary -- Essential Functions/Duties
The Machinist analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains ground support equipment, parts, accessories, and systems.
Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:
Operate equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions using electronic, digital, and hand tools in order to diagnose defects
Dismantle and examine parts for damage or excessive wear
Perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance and repair to heavy equipment, parts, accessories, and systems, all mechanical and hydraulic components, bearings, and motors
Repair, adjust, or replace defective engines and subassemblies
Repair corrosion, weld broken parts and structural components, and apply paint and/or other protective coatings and finishes to equipment
Reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools
Realign the equipment and re-torque to required specifications
Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency
Service equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air
Maintain equipment records and document maintenance actions
Maintain external fuel and grounding systems
Dispose of hazardous material and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations
Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Working Conditions
This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting to 50 pounds and outdoor duties with exposure to natural weather. A government vehicle is used on an as-needed basis. Grease or oil may be found on working surfaces. The incumbent must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. He/she must be able to work duty days in excess of eight hours and perform shift and weekend work to meet required schedule demands. This position may require travel.

Conversely, employees should not allow other JT4 employees or employees of another employer to use JT4 owned or assigned equipment without proof of training and approval of the shop manager.
Requirements -- Education, Technical, and Work Experience
The incumbent must be a graduate from an accredited two-year technical mechanical institution or equivalent, or at least eight years of job-related experience.
In addition, a Machinist must also possess the following qualifications:
Must be capable of operating heavy equipment
Must be able to qualify for and maintain a government security clearance
