The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Splunk Engineer to support its Maryland customer.
CACI is seeking a highly motivated Splunk engineer that has over 2 years' experience managing a Splunk Platform, creating Splunk applications, and using IT Service Intelligence (ITSI). The Splunk engineer will build applications to manage, search, analyze, and visualize data. The role includes installing, troubleshooting, and performing Splunk application development. The role also includes integrating Splunk with other applications using web services and other system APIs
Responsibilities:
Maintain and extend a current Splunk 8.5 implementation on MASH resources consisting of 3 search heads, 4 indexes, 1 master loader, 1 load balancer, and 2 forwarders.
Perform Splunk version upgrades and migrate the solution to RHEL8 OS and eventually onto an AWS platform.
Use Splunk software for searching, monitoring, and analyzing machine-generated data.
Coordinate with the customer on reporting vision, create Splunk reports, and deploy/manage them on dashboards.
Display metrics, diagnose problems, and pull data from repositories on servers from tools such as CASPORT, LATTEART, Jira, and Confluence.
Create knowledge articles, documentation, and work instructions used by the Splunk, server, desktop and Information System Security teams, and Tier 2/3 Help Desk technicians.
Establish a process to control and manage requirements changes, consider impacts before committing changes, gain stakeholder buy-in, eliminate ambiguity, ensure requirements traceability, and track and settle open actions formally and proactively.
Contribute to development and ongoing improvement of industry best practices and standards for maintaining data analytics enterprise technologies.
Manage and ensure the technical integrity of the system baseline over time, continually updating it as various changes are imposed on the system during the lifecycle from development through deployment and operations & maintenance.
Ensure the Splunk infrastructure functions properly with PKI-based authentication, corporate authorization services, firewalls, and SSL/TLS communications.
Install, test, and deploy hotfixes/patches for Splunk app/product releases to manage enterprise vulnerabilities.
Administering Splunk clusters
Upgrading Splunk to new versions
Writing Python scripts to pull data from tools using API data calls
Performing IAVA support
Upgrading platform from CentOS7 to RHEL8 and moving to AWS
Pulling logs for servers
Creating dashboards and briefing material using Splunk data for COR-T
Qualifications:
Six (6) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required with a Bachelor of Science degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Note: Four (4) years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Two (2) years of experience managing a Splunk Platform
Active TS/SCI security clearance and a current polygraph is required.
This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$85,800 - $180,200
