Job Summary:
We are looking for a Lead Business Intelligence and System Test specialist to join Quality Assurance group to help us build unconventional System Data Test team. The quality assurance team is working with talented cross-functional engineering team that is building new platform utilizing cutting-edge technologies. QA team is leading relentless pursuit of quality including defect management, data validation, tools, test data management, and on multiple large-scale programs for the CAT Digital Platform.
What You Will Do:
Responsibilities of the incumbents are to provide leadership in creating manual and automation testing of data itself. Be responsible for overseeing and mentoring junior testers and business analyst and handle code reviews. This is a unique opportunity that requires strong experience and deep understanding of two worlds: data analysis and system level testing
Competent to perform all testing, project management, and quality assurance assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work.
Acts as technical leader for newly created system data test functions. Provide strategic and tactical leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members.
Competent to perform all validation activities of new and existing data sets, structures, repository rules, and pipelines data processing.
Use your understanding of systems, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance in traditional system testing to identify strategy, approach, and test cases for data test activities..
Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution.
Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems.
Drives date testing needs focused around delivering business valuable features
Guide the team to develop test planning and execution in an agile work environment
Analyze business requirement to develop implicit data requirements and execute manual and automation test cases
Document software issues and defects in bug tracking software and monitor for the resolution.
Coordinate with product owner and data stewards to resolve open issues/enhancements/upgrades and understand the use of a specific data on system functionality.
Communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing data for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness
Performs testing to reproduce defects and collect arti-facts necessary for analysis and resolution. Participate in field follow testing of features that require careful planning and execution to ensure timely quality results.
Identify high impact issues, drive them to resolution, perform root cause analysis, and assist leadership to make right decision through data and quantitative decision making.
Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

Business Data Analysis: Knowledge of business data analysis; ability to collect, identify, analyze and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements.
Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
Research Analysis: Knowledge of the concepts, methodologies and methods of research analysis; ability to locate, interpret and evaluate research findings compiled and documented by others.
Consideration for Top Candidates:
15 years of experience in software engineer
Demonstrated experience developing strategies and leading software testing
Extensive experience collecting and transforming data
Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Quality Assurance and Quality Control methodologies.
Prior experience with cloud environment (AWS strongly preferred)
Experience in telecommunication industry, devices, and/or telematics collection methodologies
