Job Title: CMM Lead
Location: Colchester, CT
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated CMM Lead to oversee the daily operations of the CMM inspection team at our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will guide CMM Inspectors, resolve inspection challenges, and help achieve daily production goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As a CMM Lead, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supervising and mentoring CMM Inspectors, ensuring high performance and efficiency.
Developing and implementing strategies to meet departmental goals and continuously improve processes.
Tracking progress toward departmental objectives and evaluating outcomes, making adjustments as needed.
Inspecting complex mechanical parts and fixtures for quality assurance.
Assessing parts for acceptable quality and documenting reasons for rejections.
Designing and modifying inspection setups to meet product dimensional requirements.
Interpreting complex drawings, specifications, and manufacturing process sheets.
Performing surface plate inspections to validate key features and maintain high quality standards.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing inspection (formal apprenticeship or equivalent training in related trades will also be considered).
Proficiency with PC-DMIS, CAD tools, GD&T, and general CMM programs.
Experience with various handheld inspection devices and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
Strong ability to interpret technical documentation and manufacturing process sheets.
Highly organized with the ability to cross-train across different areas of the shop.
Punctual, reliable, and willing to work overtime as necessary to meet production demands.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or vocational school graduate.
Hours:
First Shift: 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Thursday
Overtime may be required on Fridays as needed based on production demands.
Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
