SUMMARY:
The Furnace Operator is responsible for setting up and operating all furnaces related to annealing strip products, ensuring that production meets the required specifications for shape, hardness, and quality. The role includes a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient operation of furnaces and associated equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and operate all furnaces within the department, including annealing furnaces, aging ovens, weld wire lines, degreasing lines, and Radcon furnaces, per established work instructions.
Operate annealing furnaces to produce annealed strip material that meets internal and customer specifications for shape, hardness, and quality.
Start and shut down furnaces according to work instructions; adjust furnace temperatures, and regulate Nitrogen and Hydrogen flow rates as needed.
Perform routine quality checks to ensure products meet required specifications using a variety of measuring devices.
Complete all required documentation and production logs accurately and on time.
Provide training to other operators as needed to ensure proper furnace operation and adherence to quality standards.
Conduct regular safety and quality checks on all equipment; perform required preventive maintenance and other maintenance tasks as needed.
Perform multiple tasks daily in a fast-paced environment while ensuring product quality and operational efficiency.
Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work on weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
Must be able to operate industrial equipment, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and front-end loaders.
Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience in a related field.
Pay Details: $24.00 per hour
