Position Description:
In this UAW Skilled Trades position, the selected candidate will lay out, install, maintain and repair all electrical equipment and power and lighting systems in the plant including motors, generators, transformers, controls and mechanisms, timing devices, switches, cables and conduits, communicating, recording and alarm systems.
Use various types of testing equipment to locate and correct trouble.
Work on energized circuits when required.
May be required to work on high voltage equipment.
May make functional tests to determine that the electrically powered or electrically controlled machines or equipment operate properly after installation or repair.
Determine horsepower requirements, line loads, material requirements, etc.
May be assigned to specialized work within the classification.
May be assisted by Helper.
Requirements:
Must have high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Must Journeymen Electrician or provide documentation to support 8 years of experience in the Electrical trade.
Must be U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to obtain / maintain a security clearance.
Must be able to successfully complete the pre-employment process including drug screen and background check.
Must obtain Department of Army Police unescorted access.
Musthave abilityto read and work from blueprints.
Must be able to successfully complete the pre-employment process including drug screen and background check.
Must have current state driver's license in order obtain in-plant licenses to operate motorized vehicle including man lifts, forklifts, etc.
Operate crane (up to 50 tons)
Environmental Conditions:
Ability to work in production environment, including:
Climbing stairs, ladders and equipment.
Work from ladders scaffolds or swing stages when necessary.
Lift and carry- minimum of 40#,
Working in inclement weather including extreme heat and cold.
Working in confined spaces.
Working in areas with a high noise volume.
Must be able to wear personal protective clothing and equipment.
Must be able to wear respirator.
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and crawl.
Must be able to work aloft- cannot be afraid of heights.
Working in areas with dust and fumes.
Overtime and off-shift work may be required.
