Position Description:
This position is responsible for the planning, alterations and installation of equipment, machinery and buildings to support the production processes for state of the art military combat vehicle. Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, installation and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Proposes facility project feasibility, costs, performance requirements and delivery schedules for approval. Forward visionary of new and innovative methods and technology in the maintenance and facilities environment. Manages/audits facility support services to meet requirements of JSMC -US Army Facility Contract. Occasionally fills in for Maintenance Supervision over skilled trades .Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications and performance, Company or government requirements, current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing facility operations, grounds and safety/security to ensure compliance. Functions as Company representative with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares/reviews/recommends bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Job Requirements:
-Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Operations, or other applicable technically related field of study required.
-Must be at least 18 years of age and a US citizen
-Must be able to obtain/maintain DOD Secret security clearance
-Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills (written, verbal, computer) required
-Proficient knowledge of OSHA/EPA and other federal, state and local regulations required to perform this role
-Must be able to work independently or with minimal oversight
-Must have organization and time management skills
-Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with unionized workforce
Working Conditions & Environment:
-Using ladders and stairs to climb into/onto vehicle structures
-Climbing, walking, bending, kneeling, standing and stooping
-Lifting up to 50 lbs.
-This position requires working both in office and manufacturing floor environments
-Working in and around dust, fumes, oils, mists, adhesives and in areas with a high noise volume
-Working in hot and cold environments
