Summary You will serve as the Cybersecurity Technical Area Expert (TAE) within the Expeditionary Cybersecurity and Production Branch (E35) Expeditionary Systems Division (E30) at the NAVSURFWARFCTR PANAMA CITY DIVISION. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. Responsibilities You will provide Information System Security Engineering (ISSE) and management for Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) vehicle, Landing Craft Utility (LCU), and Military Sealift Command (MSC) platforms. You will develop strategies, goals, tasks, roles, responsibilities and information needs for cybersecurity and oversight based on requirements and lifecycle support of DoD platforms. You will be responsible for implementing cybersecurity principles and methods (such as DoD's Risk Management Framework) for evaluating LCAC, LCU, and MSC information system's cybersecurity posture to ensure compliance with DoD requirements. You will provide LCAC, LCU, and MSC cybersecurity engineering subject matter expertise to internal and external organizations. You will work closely with system stakeholders to ensure cybersecurity objectives are met, including the development and release of system updates focused on vulnerability remediation. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and cyber technicians to design, develop, test and evaluate or recommend integrated security systems and physical control solutions. You will ensure critical data and systems are protected in accordance with DoD and Navy cybersecurity instructions, business rules, standard operating procedures, and guidance. You will provide technical oversight and leadership in the area of LCAC, LCU, and MSC platform information control systems cybersecurity and technologies. You will maintain mastery of Information Assurance, Information Technology (IT) security and Cybersecurity theory and concept, practices, methods, tools, environments and emerging issues for application to current program/platform architectures. You will assist with development, maintenance, and tracking of the security plans in the enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) portal. You will utilize cybersecurity industry standard tools and methods for system analysis You will communicate authoritatively both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization (including Flag Officer and Senior Executive level) and develop succinct and well organized written correspondence, plans, reports, and briefs. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. For the 1550, Professional Computer Science Series: A bachelor's degree in computer science OR A bachelor's or higher degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
