Summary You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the Program Executive Office (PEO) Integrated Warfare System (IWS) of PROGRAM EXECUTIVE OFFICE IWS. This hiring activity, within Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) Headquarters, has converted to the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) which is an alternate personnel system. Responsibilities You will manage acquisition development, fielding, and sustainment of the program including standardization, commonality, configuration management, risk management, design for logistics support, test and evaluation, and modeling and simulation. You will assess and provide strategic direction for resolution of mission-critical problems, policies, and procedures. You will formulate organizational strategies, tactics, and budget/action plan to acquire and allocate resources. You will establish and maintain internal and external channels of communication across government and industry. You will serve as an expert advisor applying advanced concepts, principles, and processes for life cycle engineering and management of various systems, subsystems, equipment, and procedures. You will direct assignments to encourage employee development and cross-functional growth to meet organizational needs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 pay band (or GS-13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-4 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. NH-04 salary ranges vary by General Schedule/Pay Band and geographic location. Positions may have a control point; thus the salary range may be capped at GS-15, Step 05, which is currently equivalent to $185,824.
