Job Description:
Parsons are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Project Manager proficient in defining project scope, managing stakeholder expectations, and fostering a collaborative Agile environment, committed to empowering teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and continuous improvement to align project deliverables with business goals.
What You'll Be Doing:
Manage the delivery and continuous improvement of digital initiatives within THE LINE project leading the project and scrum management, tracking and reporting of deliverables and activities daily for the Digital Platforms team; identifying and managing stakeholders, blockers, dependencies, risks and issues across all levels of the organization.
Responsible for providing hands-on coaching, fostering accountability and driving improvements in project/product agile delivery practices, while ensuring sustainable and efficient workflows in a culture driven by urgency, quick time-to-market, and immediate response to opportunities.
Manage work breakdowns and refinement of Backlogs (EPICs, Stories, Tasks, Estimates) and support the planning of digital initiatives and development.
Manage and coordinate the delivery team in accordance with the vision and strategy for the Projects team, aligned with the organization's business goals and objectives of design strategies and processes
Manage the delivery of initiatives from concept to completion. Work to support projects to drive them to complete on time and within budget. Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
Coach cross-functional teams on Scrum/Agile principles and practices, ensuring effective adoption.
Lead Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives) to ensure collaboration and alignment on project deliverables.
Help teams create and manage product backlogs, ensuring requirements are properly documented, detailed, prioritized based on business value.
Remove impediments and blockers that hinder the team's progress. Support the Product Owner in maintaining the product backlog and prioritizing tasks.
Mentor and support our teams in Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
Establish clear feedback loops so that challenges and obstacles are addressed early with transparency across teams.
Help the team create a prioritization framework to manage urgent ad-hoc tasks while balancing ongoing work.
Encourage a culture where urgent demands are properly evaluated against available resources, timelines, and impact on project goals.
Facilitate the identification of bottlenecks and suggest changes to improve velocity and team efficiency.
Facilitate regular communication with senior leadership, providing insights into cross-functional scrum teams progress, identifying potential risks, and recommending necessary adjustments to enhance agile practices and teams’ efficiency.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related activities. Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a clear and timely manner. Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project goals. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Continuously improve project management and agile processes and workflows to optimize efficiency and productivity.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, BIM, Software Development or equivalent.
10+ years industry experience,5 or more years of experience in Project Management and Scrum Master, 5 or more years of experience in Software Development
Extensive experience in coaching organizations at various stages of their Agile journey.
Skilled in Agile tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira, facilitating seamless project management and team collaboration.
Proficient in agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar project management tools.
Project management and reporting skills, including the ability to track progress, issues, and provide clear updates to stakeholders.
Strong communication, facilitation and collaboration
Problem-solving and conflict resolution
Leadership and coaching capabilities
Expertise in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) with the ability to coach teams through adoption and process refinement.
Proficiency in managing Scrum ceremonies, velocity tracking, and promoting agile practices like incremental delivery and adaptive planning.
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is a plus.
Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
