Job Description:
The Design Management Director for THE LINE project is responsible for leading the Design Management Function as part of Engineered Design. Part of the Senior Leadership Team working with other Engineered Design Function Leads to ensure all activities are coordinated and aligned. Working closely with the Design Management Delivery Director to manage the design team, developing design strategies ensuring that the design meets the project's goals and objectives. The Design Management Director must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong understanding of design principles and processes.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and implement design strategies and processes to ensure successful completion of projects
Lead and manage a team of design professionals to ensure successful completion of projects
Oversee the design process from concept to completion
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders
Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are met
Ensure design standards are met and maintained
Manage budgets and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Analyze and evaluate design trends and technologies to ensure projects are up to date
Develop and implement design policies and procedures
Provide guidance and mentorship to design team members
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional registration in engineering, architecture, or related field
25+ years of experience in design management.
Proven track record of successful project delivery.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary diverse team.
Ability to manage projects from throughout the project lifecycle.
Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of engineering and design principles
