We are seeking a Flight Termination System (FTS) Engineer to support the development of a Common Command Flight Termination System in our sunny Orlando facility!
What You Will Be Doing
The applicant will team with System Requirements, Designers, and Subject Matter Experts as part of an integrated development team.
The Flight Termination System Engineer will apply extensive technical expertise to develop solutions to complex problems in support of technical planning, design, system integration, instrumentation and data collection systems, and test.
The successful candidate will define the design and test requirements for the subset of FTS components to be utilized across all future FTS designs at LM, as well as support the development of the components to meet these requirements.
The applicant will interact with senior personnel on technical matters requiring extensive coordination between multiple organizations.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 14 years of professional experience, or a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 12 years of professional experience.
Experience with Flight Termination System Requirements, Design, Test, and Integration.
Experience with Electronic Safe and Arm Devices, Flight Termination Receivers, Batteries, Antennas, and Ordnance.
Demonstrated effective communication skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
15+ years of experience with Flight Termination System electrical design; considered a Flight Termination System Subject Matter Expert
Knowledge of telemetry system design and integration with Flight Termination System components
Strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
Familiarity with Model-Based Design Architecture and Requirements tools (Cameo) and processes
Active Secret security clearance with investigation in the last 5 years
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
