Currently, ManTech is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Engineering Technician III to join our office in Port Hueneme, CA
Summary:
This position supports the Naval Warfare Center (NWC) Underway Replenishment (UNREP) Division's maintenance support to Military Sealift Command (MSC) platforms.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Assist with UNREP equipment overhaul at the UNREP Test Site
Complete troubleshooting on transmissions during diagnosis and pretesting phases
Assist government engineer's in organizing and complete no load and load testing of transmissions on the UNREP Test Site
Assist with maintenance on equipment on the UNREP Test Site as directed (winches, fuel probes, etc.)
required to become a subject matter expert in UNREP transmission maintenance and operation through on the job learning and training at the UNREP Test Site. A qualification card and test must be completed
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
At least one (1) year minimum of mechanical experience required (auto, oilfield equipment, machine work, etc.)
Experience communicating professionally with employees and clients
Experience with observing and reporting findings
Experience communicating with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
Experience climbing ladders, pulling cable and execution of proper installation methods.
Experience working aboard a ship inclusive of in a shipyard environment
Experience working alone and as part of a team
Experience in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Power Point
Preferred Qualifications:
Naval experience as boatswain's mate or shipboard engineering type rate
Experience using wiring lists, schematics, blueprints, and verbal and written instructions to route, tag, test and terminate shipboard cables
Experience with Shipyard and NAVSEA installation requirements and supporting documentation
Clearance Requirements:
US Citizenship and a Current and active US Secret Security Clearance; an active Interim US Secret Clearance is acceptable to start
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Must be able to carry up to 50lbs
Ability to climb up multiple flights of stairs, planks or galley ways
Crawling and maneuvering in confined spaces or bilge areas, if required
Operate standard office equipment
The person in this position must be capable to go onboard a ship in an operational and industrial environment
Able to climb ladders and go through scuttles onboard vessels
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual
Must be able to obtain forklift license
The projected compensation range for this position is $51,400.00-$86,300.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
