Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Software Engineer with 4 years of experience. The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to work with platforms and mission applications for intelligence and defense customers with domain emphasis in targeting, weaponeering, missile-centric product generation (navigation products), Geospatial Intelligence, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), and/or Mission Management.
The candidate will apply Software Engineering principles to the support the requirements analysis, design, development, and verification of software developed to fully support and automate the planning and execution cycle for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. This advanced web-based mission-planning tool improves the ability for military commanders and staff to communicate, collaborate, access, organize, and respond to Ship to Objective Movement (STOM) plans. The qualified candidate will work in small rapid integration and development Agile multi-disciplinary teams and have a hand in the entire systems engineering process. Tasks include:
Working with customers, end users, and other contractors with the DoD community in the understanding and development of conops for intelligence, targeting, weaponeering, navigation products, and/or mission planning.
Application of agile processes for analyzing customer requirements and design artifacts, system architecture models, user workflows for the development of system capabilities and features, demonstrations, test plans, and delivery of documentation and products to the customers, end users, and other contractors.
Working with agile development teams consisting of systems and software engineers in establishing systems design including system capabilities, features, and user stories; applying iterative software development processes and methods.
Collaborating with developers; providing feedback and insight to software development teams to meet design.
Developing, documenting, and executing test plans and procedures for all phases of testing from integration to full system integration testing; defining verification and validation methods
Participating in and preparation of materials for technical reviews and various other technical exchange meetings
Recommending and developing new, innovative, and efficient process improvements to current testing processes and methodologies including use of automated testing approaches
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance
Experience with Server-side programming in Java (Servlets, etc.) and Client-Server interactions
Knowledge of debugging Java code using Eclipse IDE or similar Java IDE
Experience using GIT and Bitbucket for software version control
Experience interfacing to Microsoft Office using a Java to COM interface
Experience with agile systems engineering activities, processes, and methodologies
Experience with requirements development, requirements management systems, system design of complex systems, incorporating new designs and systems into existing platforms and developing technical documentation
Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, users, and contractors from the DoD communities
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Familiarization with WildFly
Experience updating SQL Server and SQL commands and interfaces
Knowledge of SQL Server
Experience or familiarity with SecDevOps methods
Familiarity with UI/ UX design tools (Visio or similar) Knowledge of issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA/ADO)
Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
