Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
- V2X is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons & Guided Munitions Division (E20) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) that supports activities in the following technical disciplines: guided munitions including guided and unguided projectiles, guided missiles, and guided rockets, advanced fire control and methods to close the fire control loop against threats, gun and launcher systems, sensors, and high speed projectiles and bullets.
On site in a lab environment at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hand solder SMT components under a stereo microscope.
Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
Determine methods and sequences of assembly operations where complete information is not readily available.
Works from schematics diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, which include harnessing and mechanical components.
Performs continuity checks and conducts quality inspections on work in process and completed work. Perform quality tasks by visual observation, bill of materials and assembly drawings.
Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental/prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
Maintain board and parts inventory accuracy.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a High School education.
Experience:
(7) Seven years of experience in applying engineering services to engagement system components and assemblies related to naval surface warfare technologies.
Experience developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance, and assisting engineers in inspecting products, conducting tests, and collecting data.
(3) Three years of experience in assembly
(2) Two years of experience in SMT hand soldering
Technology:
Electronics laboratory equipment.
Hand tools, power tools, calibration tools and test equipment.
