Systems Testing Engineer (Journeyman Engineer/Scientist) (SSETS-2024-21651):
Bowhead is seeking a Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) Systems Testing Engineer (Journeyman Engineer/Scientist) to work G/ATOR testing of system update releases supporting the Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department at Naval Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.
Responsibilities
The RADARSystems TestingEngineer/Scientist will work directly with the client supporting Marine Corps systems that include Dual Band Radar (DBR), Ground Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR), AN/SPY-1, AN/SPY-6, Enhanced Radar Data Display System (ERDDS), Enhanced Coherent Data Collection System (ECDCS), Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) and other Sensor Systems.
Job duties include but are not limited in:
Conduct research and support the coordination, planning, and execution of evaluation activities to include performing assessment and integration testing, site acceptance testing, and other evaluation activities.
Coordinate testing, schedules, and related documentation.
Develop test and evaluation documentation, which include testing plans, laboratory testing documents, new technology evaluation documents, usability engineering documents and laboratory testing of sensor test articles developed by the product design agent.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering.
or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
or Ph.D degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Position requires 100% of work conducted at customer site.
General Sensor Engineering experience since award of degree:
Minimum four (4) years if Candidate has a Bachelor's degree
Minimum two (2) years if Candidate has a Master's degree
Specialized Experience:
Demonstrated experience and ability to perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced sensor systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
