HOW TO SUCCEED
As the Supplier Quality Engineer you will be responsible for supporting Supply Chain in a fast-paced work environment and providing engineering guidance on supplier manufacturability, quality, and delivery concerns that will help meet our supply chain needs. This role will also be strategic in the growth of the Supplier Quality Engineering department for all of Mission Systems. A team player who supports the shared success of the team. You'll use your skills to work on Medium to High Complexity Hardware, working under limited supervision. This position is onsite in Lansdale when not traveling, will support the other Mission Systems sites.
Responsibilities
Perform site audits for new suppliers, on a recurring basis for existing suppliers, and during any critical supplier issues (audits may include a review and assessment of supplier processes and compliance to company, government, and federal manufacturing standards)
Provide technical support to suppliers to quickly resolve any technical, schedule, logistical, or quality issues to support on-time shipments and production at CAES
Support the Grow-Maintain-Exit supply chain strategy by providing technical insight on current suppliers and evaluating potential new suppliers that can exceed current supplier performance
Support New Product Introductions at existing suppliers or transition or existing products to new suppliers
Evaluate supplier metrics on a monthly basis to uncover trending issues and proactively improve supplier performance
Manage First Articles from suppliers including on-site support (if necessary) and support Receiving Inspection and production through the First Article validation process
Participate and/or lead weekly supplier calls for critical suppliers or projects as required. Work with Supply Chain to manage suppliers' action items, quality, and delivery
Support Receiving Inspection for any nonconformances identified for received material. Issue and manage SCARs as necessary.
Review Supplier Quality Engineering and Supply Chain processes to identify opportunities for process improvement, streamlining, and standardization between CAES sites. Promote sharing of best practices, inter-site coordination, and process sharing to foster a cohesive wide Supplier Quality Engineering team.
Support higher-level initiatives regarding Supply Chain and Supplier Quality Engineering strategy
25-50% travel is required, but may be higher depending on program, supplier, or internal needs
Qualifications
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or equivalent), and minimum 5 years' experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment or Master's Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) and minimum 3 years' experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment
Ability to visit key suppliers (approx. 25 - 50% travel)
Experience with MS Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred:
BS or BA degree typically required in a related field of study, with minimum 8 years' in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment, or MS or MA degree in a related field of study, with minimum 5 years' in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment
Proven technical experience in SMT, PWB manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, microelectronics, machining, and/or electro-mechanical assemblies
Experience using ERP systems
Aerospace or Defense Experience
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques and principles
Supplier quality experience
Continuous environment experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Active Security clearance
Salary Range: $93,495.00 - $115,494.00 (Lansdale PA)annually. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as business results.
