Overview
At #CAES, our Digital Engineers are part of a dynamic Engineering Design Team who architect, simulate, design, develop, support implementation, and integrate digital functions and sub-systems into CAES' products. The candidate will perform requirements specification, digital design, simulation, design validation, system integration, and transition to production. The candidate should have successfully implemented designs in fielded systems and developed test and integration plans. Responsibilities
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Senior Digital Engineers perform requirements specification, digital design, simulation, design validation, system integration, and transition to production.
Create digital concept and architecture from specifications
Design digital hardware to interface with real-time and closed-loop Electronic Warfare subsystems to meet system requirements
Circuit card design including parts selection, schematic entry, and layout oversight
Write and simulate VHDL for FPGAs
Write and debug embedded C for micro-controllers.
Test and integrate circuit cards / sub-systems / systems
Interface with complex RF subsystems and/or motion controlled positioner assemblies
Be responsible for complete board/module designs with respect to technical details, budget, and schedule
Contribute to proposals for new business and provide labor estimates
Author related documentation such as version description documents, verification procedures, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
Three (3)+ years of experience in Digital Design.
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
The ability to gain and maintain Active Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Computer Engineering.
Five (5) - Eight (8)+ years of experience in Digital Design.
Experience writing VHDL for state-of-the art FPGAs such as Altera or Xilinx or experience writing software for embedded micro-controllers.
Familiarity in the design of digital hardware (FPGAs, micro-controllers, memory, ADCs, DSPs, etc.)
Hands on laboratory experience with test equipment (e.g., signal generator, logic analyzer, oscilloscope, etc.)
Strong verbal communication skills with ability to present data and explain results to key stakeholders.
High degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness to design and deliver advanced solutions.
Experience integrating and troubleshooting first time builds.
Familiarwith common HW interfaces/data protocols (e.g., TCPIP, UDP, RS-422, USB, PCI, CAN).
Signal processing using Analog-to-Digital (ADC) and Digital-to-Analog (DAC) components.
Familiar with motion control or various automation devices; limit switches, encoders, resolvers, relays, etc.
Experience interfacing with and parameters of RF components; switches, amplifiers, etc.
Familiar with Altium Designer for schematic entry or Intel's Quartus Prime IDE.

Salary Range: Senior Digital Engineer : $ 101,194.93 - $ 151,792.39 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
