Overview
CAES Mission Systems in Lansdale PA is seeking a Senior RF Engineer with proven skills in radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design.
This role is responsible to design, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition and ancillary equipment. This position provides the circuit designs based on the performance spec, schedule, cost, reliability, and manufacturability requirements. The Engineer collaborates with Thermal, Reliability, Mechanical, Power, and System Engineering teams, contributing in identifying key risk factors and driving requirements for components interfacing with the design. Responsibilities
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design RF circuits using simulation tools such as: Microwave Office, Visual System Simulator, HFSS, ADS
Ability to work in a team environment
Provide mentorship to less experienced Engineers. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results;
Test, tune, debug and optimize prototype circuits and components to meet specification requirements and manufacturing produce-ability requirements; write test procedures and/or software
Troubleshoot the circuit in test bench and simulation
Provide RF performance to System Engineering
Partner with the organization in the scheduling of development projects, including process development, fixture design and implementation, material procurement and customer interface (design reviews);
Assist Product transition from Engineering to Manufacturing, including writing Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP)
Qualifications
Minimum:
B.S. Electrical Engineering
5 years of experience working with RF Design
3 years of experience working circuit simulation software such as AWR/ADS/HFSS
3 years of experience understanding RF parameters: S-parameters, Noise Figure, Intercept point, Compression, Spurious and Phase Noise
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred:
MS Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of directly related experience
7+ years of years of experience in RF Design
Architecture Fundamentals
RF Budget Analysis
Electro Magnetic Analysis
Active DOD Security Clearance
Strong oral and written communication skills to interface with key internal and external customers
Requires a degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness to design and deliver highly advanced solutions
Good analytical and test skills Background in defense industry
Salary Range: $107,520 - $192.381 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
