IMS is seeking a lead Senior T&E SETA Engineer to join our team in the Falls Church, VA area. You will provide direct engineering support to the official Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E) and Engineering Prototyping and Experimentation Mission Directorate.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide scientific and engineering technical assessment of proposed prototypes and experimentations.
Provide a quantitative/qualitative analysis of technologies from the technological industry base, services, and Government laboratories.
Validate prototypes and experimentations utilizing proven scientific analyticalmethods and high-fidelity modeling to confirm key performance parameters design specifications of prototypes.
Provide technical recommendation and reports on the rapid acquisition deployment of prototypes.
Review prototypes and experimentation proposals with recommendations but deliver findings in the form of technical reports, briefings, and executive summaries.
Provide subject matter expertise with experience in the following technical areas:
Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning
Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) & Electronic Warfare (EW)
Space and Stratosphere capabilities
Information Operations
Demonstration and Experimentation of key prototypes to assess the engineering design, risk, specification of a prototype in an operational but relevant environment to facilitate transition of the residual capability.
Education and General Experience:
Advanced Degree (Master's or PhD) in Physical Sciences (Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Robotics, Computer Architecture and Machine Learning, etc.).
15+ years of technical experience in related fields.
Experience leading classified programs at the SCI level or above.
Experience in data collection and experimentation utilizing proven scientific and analytical methods and high-fidelity modeling to confirm the key performance parameters, design, and specifications of prototypes.
Must understand performance metrics and integration into existing platforms and capabilities to include operational DOTMLPF.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to draft clear, concise reports (often dealing with highly complex technical issues), to maintain effective working relationships, and to provide technical guidance and briefings. Strong oral and writing communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other program offices, other USG and DoD agencies, and senior US and foreign government officials at a variety of venues.
Ability to independently plan and complete assignments; alerting the supervisor only when problems arise that would delay project or mission accomplishments. In addition, conflicts, controversy, or highly political issues are referred to the supervisor
Preferred Experience:
10+ years' experience test positions, specifically formal Developmental Test/Operational Test, and full-time testing of emerging technologies.
Military or OSD experience.
Technical project management experience.
Additional technical background in one or more of the technical areas:
Cyber
Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning.
Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) & Electromagnetic Warfare (EW).
Space and Stratosphere.
Information Operations.
Demonstration and Experimentation.
Clearance Requirements: Must have anActive Top Secret Security Clearance with SCIis required.
