The Office of the Utah Attorney General has an opening for a Section Director to supervise the Financial Intelligence Center Section as part of the Financial Crimes Division. The newly formed Financial Crimes Intelligence Center (FCIC) is a centralized reporting center for banking and financial institutions as well as the public operated by a dedicated team of financial crime investigators and prosecutors. A centralized system enables the team to target patterns of criminal activity across various financial institutions to enhance public safety. This position is responsible for supervising an attorney, paralegal, and working closely with two criminal investigators, analyst, and a forensic accountant.The Section Director assigns cases, reviews work product both written work and oral advocacy skills, provides feedback to section members as needed, advises investigators as needed, and mentors section members. Handles personnel issues in consultation with the division director such as leave time and performance evaluations of other section members.Responsibilities:Screens matters for criminal charges and prosecutes matters as assigned;Provides consultation, makes recommendations, gives appropriate advice, and facilitates decisions; Provides legal counsel and advises law enforcement as needed; Conducts legal research and writing, and presents the State s case at every stage of the criminal process, including trying matters before juries; Supervises and mentors other section members.
