We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Lab Technician to join our Water Treatment team, focusing on the Phosphate Line. This entry-level role will provide hands-on experience in water quality testing, sample analysis, and supporting the phosphate water treatment process. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of water chemistry, be eager to learn, and develop skills in laboratory procedures and equipment operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in performing routine water quality tests on the phosphate treatment process, including measurements of pH, turbidity, phosphate concentration, and other key parameters.
Collect water samples from various stages of the phosphate treatment process and prepare them for analysis.
Support laboratory staff in maintaining accurate records of test results and observations.
Operate basic laboratory equipment such as pH meters, spectrophotometers, and other testing instruments under supervision.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment with guidance from senior staff.
Follow safety guidelines for handling chemicals, reagents, and waste materials in compliance with environmental and company standards.
Help with organizing and cleaning the laboratory, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Participate in routine inspections to monitor water quality trends and assist in identifying potential improvements.
Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation of lab activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Work closely with the operations team to support daily water treatment functions and provide data for analysis.
Skills and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Associate's Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Interest in water treatment, chemistry, or environmental science with a desire to learn more.
Basic understanding of laboratory testing techniques and equipment (training will be provided).
Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow established procedures.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to document results and communicate findings.
Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions from more experienced team members.
Comfortable with repetitive tasks and managing time efficiently.
A strong commitment to safety and following guidelines for handling chemicals and materials.
Pay Details: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour
