The Lead Instructor of a Concordia Language Villages (CLV) Language Training Center (LTC) program is responsible for the development and implementation of a language-specific, two- and three-week-long residential iso-immersion program in accordance with client-specified expectations. This includes planning and implementation the program curriculum, assisting with staff recruitment and interviewing, budget/expense tracking, some public relations, and interacting with the support staff from operations support areas at the Language Villages. This position is responsible for implementing a program that reflects the mission and immersion methodology of Concordia Language Villages, meets client expectations, all within the parameters of the ConcordiaLTCmodel. The lead instructor reports to theLTCdirector and associate director, is responsible for managing the instructional team as a cohesive, collaborative team, and interfaces with theCLVadministrative team as a whole.
Minimum Qualifications:
Superior (at minimum) proficiency in the target language/dialects and Advanced (minimum) proficiency English
Commitment to the importance of immersion language and culture education
Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and methodologies for second language learning in an immersion setting for adults
Strong organizational and management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Masters. degree required, with advanced degree preferred
Ability to perform the essential functions of the program leader position (see job description)
Availability for all session dates noted in the application
Eligibility to be employed legally in theUSA; assume responsibility and costs for any visa requirements
