We bring 120 years of successful mission support to improve security, streamline logistics, and enhance readiness. Aligned around a shared purpose, our $3.9B company and 16,000 people work alongside our clients, here and abroad, to tackle their most complex challenges with integrity, respect, responsibility, and professionalism.
The Solid State Phased Array Radar System (SSPARS) Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) System Analyst is responsible for monitoring and analyzing system performance to ensure optimal radar functionality. This role involves reviewing system logs, calibration data, and performance metrics to identify and address abnormal behavior, system outages, and operational degradations. The System Analyst prepares Problem Reports (PRs) and Deficiency Reports (DRs) to document issues and supports investigations. They draft ICE plans and reports, provide technical analysis on system modifications, and collaborate with military and contractor personnel for testing activities. The LRDR System Analyst will report directly to the LRDR Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:
Utilize software tools such as MATLAB, Mathematica, and Microsoft Office products to perform data reduction, analysis, and report trends and performance of radar track data.
Analyze hardware diagnostic outputs to determine anomalies for troubleshooting.
Develop mathematical algorithms for array signal processing, performance predictions / analysis, data analysis for radar returns.
Apply mathematical and algorithm knowledge to define system performance related to radar tracking, target discrimination, computing loads and processing thresholds, and system engagement timelines.
Perform trajectory analysis and provide insight to the customer for RF/IR signature data products.
Document mathematical and statistical analytical results in a combination of formal presentations and present analysis results at team meetings and customer reviews.
Support the system via on-call when outside of normal working hours.
Analyze critical system files such as the mission plan file, satellite catalog, and satellite task list for abnormal data or overflow.
Analyze computer / radar O&M logs for system or operator errors.
Analyze daily uncorrelated target (UCT) rates to identify abnormal performance. Review the one-year library of computer system logs, ensuring the logs are properly archived and maintained.
Review and analyze system calibration, operability assessment test results, ESPs and other indicators which give an indication of system performance utilizing the system calibration metrics on the Space C2 Agency website.
Analyze occurrences of system outages or operational degradation such as the following: False Launch and Impact Message or False Impacting Object Reports; indications of radar system degradation; uncommon computer halts or hangs; CAT 1 satellite misses; EMI; failure to track a real missile launch or significant portions of a real missile launch in coverage; and other abnormal data, performance, and occurrences that may lead to a system failure. Provide analyses to support site operations investigations to the Director of Operations (DO), Operations Support, or SOC-B CMDR / CCH.
Provide Problem Reports (PRs) to support site operations investigations by the DO, Operations Support, CMDR / CCH, or Installation / Site Commander. Submit a Deficiency Report (DR) for unusual and unique anomalies, or outages. Generate an AF Form 1067 or Standard Change Form (SCF) prior to installing new software constants for the subarray test and element test installations. Generate an SCF for system or software modifications for corrective or preventive action as a result of analyses or any other proposed system/software modifications. Evaluate and provide written technical analysis on any system modification/upgrade proposal or recommendation. Maintain references to any associated PR, DR and SCF and supporting data.
Draft ICE plans and ICE reports as requested and provide data, supporting documentation and recommendations for all testing activities.
Interface with Space Training and Readiness Delta Detachment 4 (Det 4) and other military personnel, as well as other contractor personnel, to support testing activities. Activities shall include, but not be limited to, Development, Test and Evaluation (DT&E), Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E), and Installation, Checkout and Evaluation (ICE) testing.
Develop and maintain checklists to be used by site MDRO personnel.
Performs other analysis duties as directed by management.
