Join GDIT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking an Tier 1 Network Monitor to join our team at Beale AFB, CA..
Serves as a Tier 1 Network Monitor for the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) Wing Security Office and the Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (PED) Operations Center (DPOC).
The Monitor conducts fault management to detect, isolate, and correct abnormal network and information processing system component behavior on a 24-hours-a-day, seven (7) days-a-week. Providing seamless DPOC help desk support is essential for all problems reported to the DOC to ensure trouble tickets are escalated to the next skill tier incidence response level for further technical analysis, troubleshooting and closeout with the originator. The expertise and training within each function required at each tier level is specialized and requires precise synchronization at each incidence response level, but due to the interrelationship and partnerships within the functions and tiers, it is critical to have a single, accountable entity with overall responsibility for each action taken in all troubleshooting, configuration management, security and system upgrades processes and procedures.
The Monitor also:
Conductfaultmanagementtodetect,isolate,andcorrectabnormalnetworkandinformationprocessingsystemcomponent anomalies on a 24-hours-a-day,seven (7) days-a-week basis
Monitorallnodes for operationalintegrity
Respond to troublecalls
Initiate andmaintaintrouble tickets and other logs to document these anomalies as well as corrective actions
Populate and examine trouble and error logs for troubleshooting and capturing metrics
Providetechnicalsupport to resolve the problem or escalate to the appropriatelevel
Monitorandadminister network tools for troubleshooting andmetricsfor trendsanalysis
Log allnetworkissues utilizing the 480 ISRW approved system of record for problems,errors,andmaintenance in such a way to easily generatereports for trendanalysis
Providetechnicalsupport in datanetworkplanning,engineering,anddesign
Report alltroublecalls uponreceipt to the MCCin the DOCandprovide hourly updates untilresolution unlessotherwisedirectedby the DOCCrewCommander
Providequarterlymetricsillustratingtrendsandworkload to the COR in the form of a PowerPoint presentation (CDRL) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

The likely salary range for this position is $53,550 - $72,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
