Position Description:
Gray Analytics is seeking to hire senior and mid-level engineers to provide support to our growing hypersonic business area. Selected candidates will support testing and engineering analysis of hypersonic programs. Current efforts will focus on developing Modeling and Simulations (MandS), and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) test capabilities. The candidate will support the customer both locally in Huntsville Alabama, as well as provide support at multiple test venue locations across the United States. The majority of the work will be performed in an office environment and will also include time at integration laboratories and hypersonic test facilities.
Basic Qualifications:
A degree in a relevant engineering from an ABET accredited school is required. Salary considerations will be based on technical qualifications and experience.
Experience related to design, integration, simulation, test, and analysis of missile systems and/or Hard-Ware In-The-Loop (HWIL) environments.
The following skills/abilities are desired:
Design and Build-out of Missile/Kill Vehicle Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) test facilities
Design and Integration of missile/kill vehicle components and HWIL test equipment to include Infra-red Scene Projection (IRSP) systems and Flight Motion Tables
Real-Time Modeling and Simulation experience with threat signatures and flight environment effects for Hardware-in-the -Loop (HWIL) Infra-red Scene Projection (IRSP)
Design and Testing of Missile/Kill Vehicle Infra-red Sensors and Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems
Organizational skills to oversee development of test and analysis plans, modeling and simulations, data reduction and analysis, and uncertainty analysis.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication
Able to contribute technical expertise throughout the system lifecycle including design, integration, test, and delivery to operations
Organizational and interpersonal skills to design, develop, integrate, and test HWIL capabilities as part of a larger team
Experience with collaboration tools (e.g. Jira, Ams, SharePoint, Zoom)
Junior Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, etc.) with 0-3 years of professional experience in the defense industry.
Basic experience with programming languages/tools such as Python, C++, MATLAB
Mid-level Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Optical) with 3-7 years of defense industry experience is required. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for some experience, requiring 2-5 years of industry experience.
Proficient experience with programming languages/tools such as Python, C++, and MATLAB, with practical application in aerospace projects.
Senior Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Optical) with 8 - 12 years of professional experience in the defense industry experience is required. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for some experience, requiring 6 -10 years of defense industry experience.
Advanced experience with programming languages/tools such as Python, C++, and MATLAB, with practical application in aerospace projects.
Other Requirements:
Candidate must be a US citizen and must be a resident of the Huntsville, AL area (or willing to relocate)
Security Requirements:
Candidate must possess a SECRET security clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
