Job Title: Algorithm Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an Algorithm Engineer with experience working within the BMDS domain. The ideal candidate will have a experience in algorithm development and application, particularly for military applications. This role involves software integration testing, resolving system behavior issues, and recommending solutions. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The candidate must be adaptable to a dynamic work environment and possess good working knowledge of MS Office products.
Responsibilities
Develop and integrate software within the BMDS domain.
Conduct software integration testing and support the resolution of system behavior issues.
Identify root causes of issues and recommend solutions.
Work in a multi-discipline environment including systems engineering, integration and test, deployment, and warfighter support.
Generate and implement software design artifacts.
Support design and code reviews.
Support software testing and resolve issues arising from tests.
Participate in agile planning and execution.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience with software integration testing and supporting the resolution of system behavior issues.
Good working knowledge of MS Office products.
Experience with agile development and full lifecycle development of complete mathematical algorithms.
Experience developing software within a DEVSECOPS framework.
Familiarity with tools such as Git/GitLab, Eclipse, Maven/Gradle, and SonarQube.
Experience developing automated unit tests and verifying requirements.
Experience with system engineering artifacts such as ICDs, use cases, and sequence diagrams.
Active in-scope DoD issued secret security clearance at the time of application.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with MATLAB-based algorithms before their adoption into tactical software.
DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is highly desirable.
Work Environment
This role is part of the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which integrates the Missile Defense System. The C2BMC program supports the systematic planning of ballistic missile defense operations and enables dynamic management of networked sensors and weapons systems. The work environment involves collaboration within a multi-discipline team, participation in agile release trains, and involvement in both ground and flight tests to verify system capabilities. Infrequent travel between Huntsville and Colorado development facilities may be required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $80.00/hr.
