Job Description:
Do you want to be at the forefront of delivering Future Operational Resilient Ground Evolution System (FORGE) Command and Control (FC2) capabilities across the DoD?
Parsons is currently seeking a talented and experienced Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join our team to provide direct support to the Space Force in Colorado Springs, CO. As a crucial member of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in gathering, analyzing, and managing all configuration management aspects for the program to ensure the successful design, implementation, and maintenance of FC2 systems that provide essential intelligence and surveillance capabilities.
Your responsibilities will encompass the entire software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, documentation, and ongoing support, all aligned with agile techniques. You will perform grassroots requirements determination through interactions with the customer and build models based on those requirements / processes. You must be an expert in these two tools specifically: Cameo (Enterprise Architecture Suite) and Teamwork Cloud.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing systems engineering and MBSE thought leadership and expertise to the analysis, design, development, and evaluation of FC2 systems.
- Leading the development and implementation system models to support development and integration of capabilities into the FC2 system, as well as the modernization and sustainment of existing systems and capabilities.
- Applying your systems engineering expertise on requirements analysis, concept/technology development, architecture analysis, risk assessments, and test & evaluation for a wide range of ground support to space capabilities
- Delivering formal presentations to members of the technical Staff, customers, service agencies, and supporting contractors, and effectively communicate proposed concepts/solutions and analysis results.
- Familiarization with INCOSE System Engineering Guide 2017, System Engineering Guidebook Feb 2022, DoD Instruction 5000.97 Digital Engineering, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2023, ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010:2022, ISO/IEC/IEEE 24641:2023
- Familiarization with Modular Open System Architecture (MOSA), Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) design and implementation for system architecture
- DoD System Engineering Guidebook architecture design understanding.
- Functional, Physical, and Product structure architecture design implementation
- Analyzing and synthesizing the physical architecture and appropriate allocation
- Identifying and analyzing constraint requirement to the system design
- Identifying and define physical interfaces and system elements.
- Identifying and defining critical attributes of the physical system elements, including design budgets (e.g., weight, reliability) and open system principles.
- Complete and analyze upward and downward traceability of requirements.
- Confirm the interoperability and Open System performance requirements.
- Sufficiently define products and processes to support implementation, verification and validation of the system for customer compliance and traceability to GRA.
- Developing model profiles, tool plug-ins, architecture frameworks, and model queries in the MBSE tools that capture and analyze models of the systems being developed throughout their lifecycle from concept definition through fielding and support.
- Defining Digital Engineering and model-based design review requirements and update the systems engineering process to utilize advanced MBSE techniques.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, including subsystem designers and service agencies, to integrate models and verify their implementation into the overall system model and architecture.
- Responsible for aligning to Parsons Digital Engineering Framework (PDEF) and established style guides.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- A Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field and 5+ years of experience
- Experience performing systems engineering in the design, development and/or evaluation of DOD systems
- Experience in system modeling using UML/SysML and associated modeling software
- Experience with UML/SysML, DoDAF, WOSA, MOSA, or GRA
- 4+ years of experience working in Cameo and Teamwork Cloud (installing, configuring, using) MSoSA
- Experience in training other users (modelers and viewers) on Cameo and Teamwork Cloud
- Experience performing design or development with cross-disciplined engineering teams
- Experience using agile framework development methods and processes
- Direct experience applying aspects of MBSE in support of system development
- Broad systems engineering experience including early concept development, requirements analysis, design, test and evaluation, and risk assessment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to interact effectively with and lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams, including industry and government sponsors
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience working within Space Systems Command
- FORGE and MDPAF experience
- Advanced degree in systems engineering
- Relevant OMG or other systems engineering certifications
- Have expertise writing custom scripts and/or plug-ins for Cameo modeling software (including its Cameo variants) MSoSA
- Experience integrating models across multiple software applications to perform detailed analysis by leveraging data from several engineering domains
- Broad knowledge of digital engineering processes and tools including Performance-Based Modeling & Simulation Tools
- Agile processes

Salary Range:
