Do you want to be at the forefront of delivering Future Operational Resilient Ground Evolution System (FORGE) Command and Control (FC2) capabilities across the DoD? Parsons is currently seeking a talented and experienced Systems Engineer (SE) to join our team to provide direct support to the Space Force in Colorado Springs, CO. As a crucial member of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in gathering, analyzing, and managing all aspects for the program to ensure the successful design, implementation, and maintenance of the FC2 systems that provide essential intelligence and surveillance capabilities.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in systems engineering to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of FC2 systems. As a Systems Engineer, you will have the chance to work with state-of-the-art technologies, including sensor systems, data processing algorithms, and geospatial analysis tools. You will be at the forefront of shaping the future of FC2 systems, contributing to their design, integration, and enhancement to meet evolving operational needs.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing systems engineering through leadership and expertise to the analysis, design, development, and evaluation of FC2 systems.
- Design and implement FC2 system architectures that meet operational requirements and performance objectives.
- Familiarization with INCOSE System Engineering Guide 2017, System Engineering Guidebook Feb 2022, DoD Instruction 5000.97 Digital Engineering, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2023, ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010:2022, ISO/IEC/IEEE 24641:2023
- Participate in all aspects of Systems Engineering throughout the full program lifecycle (concept definition, design, test, and production), using traditional and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methods.
- Assist with definition of high level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation.
- Assists with risk assessments and generate mitigation plans to comply with system/customer requirements.
- Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo, and mathematical modeling and simulation to develop system definitions/architectures and perform trade studies.
- Partner with subject matter experts and technology experts to execute the systems engineering statement of work.
- Understand and work collaboratively with customer on their needs, goals, expectations, and sensitivities.
- Flow down customer requirements to the System Spec.
- Assist the development of the program's Ground Segment CONOPS, design and test plan using MBSE tools.
- Collaborate and support interface definitions with the SEIT program teams.
- Define verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures for architecture elements development and test, operations and support, cyber boundaries, and external interfaces to mission partners for tasking and dissemination.
- Perform various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
- Derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
- Assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.
- Perform trade studies and assist in research as needed.
- Support definition of Interface Control Documents (ICD's), including Space to Ground, Launch to Ground, External Mission Partners, and Terrestrial Comm to Ground.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate MBSE models into the design and development process, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and standards.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including system diagrams, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to FC2 systems and recommend innovations for continuous improvement.
- Support user training and knowledge transfer activities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Applying your systems engineering expertise on requirements analysis, concept/technology development, architecture analysis, risk assessments, and test & evaluation for a wide range of ground support to space capabilities
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- An Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering roles.
- Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools for modeling complex systems throughout the systems engineering lifecycle, CAMEO, MSoSA, MOSA, UAF
- Experience in systems of systems engineering of complex systems, with the ability to analyze and optimize interactions between interconnected subsystems
- Experience performing design or development with cross-disciplined engineering teams
- Experience using agile framework development methods and processes
- Broad systems engineering experience including early concept development, requirements analysis, design, test and evaluation, and risk assessment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to interact effectively with and lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams, including industry and government sponsors
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience working within Space Systems Command
- 4+ years of FORGE and MDPAF experience
- Relevant OMG or other systems engineering certifications (ASEP, CSEP, ESEP)
- Experience integrating models across multiple software applications to perform detailed analysis by leveraging data from several engineering domains

Salary Range:
