Seeking a new career challenge? Then Woolpert is seeking you! Woolpert is hiring a Senior Geospatial Lidar Specialist to join our dynamic Lidar Team. This position reports to the Lidar Team Leader and is responsible for performing advanced geospatial lidar mapping tasks on projects. Qualified candidates will be well versed with USGS Lidar 3DEP processes and deliverables, excellent communicators, and work well in a team environment. Priority will be given to candidates who meet the minimum requirements with preferred skills and abilities.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Performs advanced geospatial lidar technical tasks. Defines optimal workflow processes for their respective areas of expertise. Assists leadership in identifying technology needs, including hardware and software. Monitors and executes geospatial processes within their department and ensures all required steps are performed correctly and accurately. Provides technical expertise and leadership in the project definition and planning phases. Tracks project team hours and reports data to the team leader and quality management office (QMO). Assists leadership in the development and implementation of geospatial QA/QC standards. Applies or develops advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes in execution of quality deliverables that meet project/deliverable specifications. Communicates new scientific methods, developments and practices through appropriate firm channels. Assist leadership in the development of project estimates and production schedules based on best practice approaches and available technology. Coaches, mentors, directs ,and delegates execution of project deliverables to and among technical team members.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education/Experience: Must have BA/BS degree relating to the Geospatial field and a minimum of ten (10) years of professional Geospatial lidar related experience.
Must have extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience regarding lidar data production workflows.
Must have extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience regarding multiple aspects of production related to United States Geological Survey (USGS) lidar specifications and the Geospatial Products and Services contract including technical requirements, production of standard USGS deliverables, and quality assurance processes.
Must have experience and ability to lead USGS task order lidar projects from scoping phase through client delivery.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
Must have strong organizational skills.
Must have intermediate Microsoft Office suite skills.
Must be able to respond quickly to multiple demands in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.
Must be able to interface effectively with vendors, clients, and other firm resources in a team environment.
Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
Licenses/Certifications: GISP, CP, or CMS preferred.
