The Weatherization (Weatherization Assistance Program...WAP) Technician is a full-time position that will require traviling throughout 14 counties that conducts on-site evaluations of client homes to determine what services are needed through the weatherization program, as well as working in an office enviroment. The WAP technician also works in an office setting preparing reports and assessing subcontractor performance. Weatherization specific training is provided at the cost of the agency. The WAP Technician reports directly to the Weatherization Director.
Job Duties
Preparing for field visits by maintaining the vehicles and equipment used for evaluations
Assisting with the assessments of client homes to ensure all agency, state, and federal standards are met and if additional services are needed
Performing the assessments by use of diagnostic equipment such as blower door tests, manometers, or infrared cameras in order to determine the most cost-effective measures appropriate for each home
Assist in training weatherization participants on techniques and methods in conserving energy
Preparing program reports and assessments of sub-contractors for services rendered
Occasional travel for conferences and training opportunities.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
Valid Texas driver's license
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimum supervision
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively meet deadlines in an organized manner
Effectively work with others
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Certificate or degree in weatherization, HVAC, building trades or other appropriate field
