Senior Training Specialist - SOBT - Groton
Overview/ Job Responsibilities
GDIT is seeking a Senior Training Specialist for the Naval Underwater Warfare Center (NUWC) Submarine OnBoard Training (SOBT) program based in Groton, CT to provide technical expertise on a mission-critical program whose purpose is to provide guidance and training for warfighters.
In this role, you will work collaboratively on curriculum development, database design and maintenance, multimedia courseware development, documentation, product distribution and user support. You will play a key role in providing technical support services related to curriculum development, database design and maintenance, multimedia courseware development, documentation, product distribution and user support.
This position will be on-site, located in Groton, CT .
Primary Responsibilities:
As Senior Training Specialist, you will:
Maintain the SOBT database in support of regular updates and reports.
Perform Database Maintenance Requests that include corrections, bug fixes and enhancements upon request.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, and subject matter experts on the production and distribution of training material.
Collaborate with the training team to develop and update training materials, tutorials, and other knowledge resources for end-users.
Organize and present technical information in a clear and concise manner, tailored to the intended audience (developers, end-users, stakeholders, etc.).
Ensure training material adheres to established style guides, standards, templates, and section 508 compliance, and maintain a consistent style across various materials.
Work closely with the development teams to review and validate technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Research, gather, and synthesize information from multiple sources to create comprehensive technical documentation for complex systems, technologies, and processes.
Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies, industry trends and best practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance the quality and effectiveness of documentation.
Identify opportunities for process improvements.
Participate in and/or lead demonstrations and facilitate implementation of agreed upon ideas.
Effectively communicate technical challenges, options considered, and the recommended solution to team and customer.
Maintain documentation for both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have DOD Secret level clearance to start.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience.
6 years of relevant experience.
Must have the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision, and with a team.
Experience maintaining relational database data.
Experience section 508 compliance.
Experience writing and maintaining multimedia training tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a training specialist supporting Navy programs.
Experience with Seaware LMS.
Direct experience in providing customer support.
Experience with policies and procedures to escalate customer issues.
Experience with analytical and documentation requirements.
The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
