SAIC is seeking an Oracle Cloud Computing Engineer to join the SAIC Cloud One Operations team. This candidate will be part of a team responsible for the architecture design/planning, management, support, and oversight of the Cloud One Oracle Infrastructure (OCI) common services offered for development, integration, test, and production. The candidate will be supporting the Cloud One Common Computing Environment (CCE) program under the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Office for Network Integration (AFLCMC/HNI). Cloud One is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized, hybrid, and IT infrastructure hosting mission systems, applications, services, and data that will serve the U.S. Air Force (USAF). Cloud One incorporates the capabilities of commercial cloud and Managed Service Providers (MSP) residing in Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). Cloud One facilitates the USAF and USA's efforts to migrate applications to a cloud environment, allowing the closure of data centers to support the Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) and allowing for increased efficiency across the entire spectrum of the USAF and USA's IT operations. This position will be 100% remote.
Job Responsibilities:
Design OCI network and security components to support complex architectures.
Deploy and migrate workloads to OCI.
Conduct regular security scans of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments to identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and potential threats.
Develop and Maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or OCI Resource Manager to automate cloud provisioning and configuration management.
Deploy infrastructure using the available DevSecOps tool to secure enclaves, and troubleshoot any deployment errors.
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to OCI services, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance to ensure high availability and resilience.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure design, processes, and best practices.
Implement and maintain robust security measures, including IAM policies, network security, and data protection strategies in OCI.
Update Knowledge base and Standard Operating Procedures.
Provide technical assistance and training to users.
Share (rotational) duties to support solutions across multiple data impact level classifications.
Leverage Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to ensure compliance and vulnerability management within the OCI environment.
Qualifications
Required Clearance:
Must be a US Citizen with a Secret clearance.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and five (5) plus years of hands-on Oracle experience;Master's degree and three (3) years of experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Required Certification:
Security +, GSEC, SSCP, or CCNA-Security.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate (can be obtained within 30 days of start date).
Required Skills:
Proficient in OCI services such as Compute, Block Volumes, Object Storage, Autonomous Database, VCN, Load Balancer, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
Proficiency in using monitoring tools like OCI Monitoring, Logging, and Oracle Management Cloud to track and optimize the performance of cloud resources.
Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like terraform, Ansible, or OCI Resource Manager.
Experience with scripting language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Understanding of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Gitlab, or Oracle Developer Cloud Service.
Ability to integrate OCI with DevOps pipelines for continuous delivery and automated deployments.
Understanding of security best practices in a cloud environment.
In-depth understanding of, and experience as a cloud engineer with OCI experience.
Experience preparing technical documentation including design, asset inventory, and diagrams.
Ability to interact with high level customers and collaborate, design, plan, and implement the proposed solution of project planning.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Desired Skills:
Previous work using IaC-driven, code-first development and deployment models.
Knowledge of immutable, cloud-centric, high-availability infrastructure deployment patterns.
Previous experience deploying secure systems to the cloud in a highly regulated environment.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe or other modern software development methods/practices.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, including VCN, Subnets, Security Lists, Route Tables, and Load Balancers in OCI.
Familiarity with security scanning and compliance tools like Oracle Cloud Guard, and integration with third-party tools such as ACAS for vulnerability management.
Experience with Oracle databases, including Autonomous Database, Oracle Database Cloud Service, and managing DB systems in OCI.
Experience with Oracle Data Guard and other disaster recovery solutions.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and processes in a rapidly evolving cloud environment.
Desired Certification:
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications (e.g., OCI Architect Associate, OCI Architect Profession).
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
