Description
As a member of an Agile Team for the Delivery Services Group, selected candidate will be a member of a highly skilled and motivated team responsible for the assessment, design, and implementation of cloud-based solutions in a variety of software applications and integrated systems. An SAIC Agile Team is currently expanding to support a cloud-computing project for the Air Force and Dept of Treasury Customer.
This job is a full-time remote opportunity that can be worked anywhere within the US.
The successful candidate will be experienced and excited to work in an Agile environment and will have experience working in Cloud environment, primarily supporting migration of workloads from on-prem to cloud. The ideal candidate will possess strong background in cloud technologies, migration strategies, and systems integration.
DUTIES:
Provision and configure cloud environments using [AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.], ensuring IPv6 compatibility.
Candidates will be developing using an Agile development environment, using various DevSecOps tools, such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, GitLab (Git), Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Candidates should be familiar with cloud-computing concepts, and capable of working with potential application migration customers within the DoD and Treasury community.
Candidate needs to be able to prepare and present technical material to small and large audiences as needed.
Candidates will work with various customer application portfolio built using technologies like C#/.NET, Java, NodeJs, Python, Go applications, enhancing and migrating them to the Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Cloud Computing Environments (CCE).
Candidates will be required to collaborate with other Agile Team members and engineers in SAIC, and outside of SAIC, for software and Infrastructure development activities and general cloud integration.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and implement comprehensive migration plans tailored to our existing on-premises architecture.
Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, including IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, subnetting, and VPN setups.
Assist in the re-architecting or refactoring of applications for optimal cloud performance. Develop scripts and tools for automating deployment, monitoring, and scaling processes.
Work closely with development, operations, and security teams as applicable to ensure smooth transitions adhering to best practices including adapting them to support IPv6.
Develop Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform or Azure Bicep and any other Cloud provider specific IaC tools like AWS Cloud formation templates to automate infrastructure provisioning.
Experience migrating systems into IPv6 Enabled Cloud Environments.
Analyze current IAC and Prepare approach for implementing IPv6 and modernization needs.
Coordinate IPv6 address assignments to CSP and develop detailed implementation plan.
Develop detailed Testing and Validation strategy for systems migrating to the IPv6 environment.
Experience with verifying tools and services compatibility with IPv6 and Dual Stack.
Work with any external vendors/providers to verify the compatibility with IPv6.
Configure cloud networks, subnets, routing tables, and security groups, roles and policies.
Evaluate existing on-premises infrastructure and applications to determine migration requirements; ability to document the current and target architecture; build the Compute and Cost estimates.
Support and be part of the team developing a cloud migration strategy, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or other refactoring approaches.
Plan and execute data migration, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
Design, build, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of applications on the cloud.
Implement security best practices in cloud infrastructure, including encryption, identity and access management, and network security. Ensure cloud solutions meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering and nine (9) years or more experience. A Master's degree in computer science or engineering and seven (7) years or more experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Extremely comfortable using Linux/Windows development and build environments, as well as standard Visual Studio and Eclipse / NetBeans -based IDEs and other O/S command line tools.
Seven (7) or more years of related job experience with building cloud application and hands on knowledge building IaC that automates provisioning of Infrastructure.
Strong Unix and Shell Scripting skills and ability to build Pipelines and automate the overall execution of Terraform modules and associated deployments of the workloads using Native cloud CI/CD or Platforms like Jenkins.
Strong networking experience primarily helping enterprises to migrate their workloads into IPv6 enabled Cloud environment.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Experience/Certifications with AWS and or Azure primarily Networking specialty.
Terraform and Docker/Kubernetes certification.
Strong Development background building Java or .NET based web applications.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
