Description
Alaska Northstar Resources (ANR) is seeking a new Project Manager to join our team on an exciting and long-term opportunity supporting a US government program. The project manager will provide daily management and project oversight to one or more projects in the HICATS portfolio. The project manager will manage day to day activities for the team using Agile processes and participate in Agile ceremonies. The project manager will manage project staffing to include interviewing, selecting and on-boarding new team members. The project manager will monitor and manage resource allocation for each project and communicate any issues in a timely manner.
Responsibilities for the position are to include, but not be limited to:
Ensure team(s) maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery.
Provide visibility into delivery targets, commitments, and progress.
Create Roadmaps and Milestone charts for the project.
Be well managed - understand and coach the team on delivery controls, compliance to minimize operational, and reputational risk.
Understand domain architecture and targets to identify upstream and downstream dependencies and to support the team in risk management.
Proactively identify and resolve impediments using network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required).
Integrate Agile and Lean principles into team practices and work products.
Coach the Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritization.
Utilize team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and work with team to continuously improve.
Assess the current organization and delivery environment and recommend optimal Agile practices tailored to the client.
Innovates with practices and frameworks through experimentation to improve the team and their delivery.
Prepare and deliver effective communications both verbally and orally regarding progress and status for both internal and client teams.
Perform hands-on project work, including analysis, design and change management, as needed by the project.
Requirements
Minimum Candidate Requirements
Candidate must be US Citizen
Candidate must have ability to obtain and maintain US government Common Access Card (CAC)
Candidate must have ability to obtain and maintain position of Public Trust with US Government
Candidate must have bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, CIS, Engineering, or another relevant field of study
Candidate must have 5+ years experience with the following:
Managing IT projects using agile methodologies and approaches
Working with IT projects using Scrum/Kanban Methodologies.
Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
Ability to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions
Flexibility to work with teams, individuals, and executives, and possess a willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
Preferred Skills
PMP certification

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
