Our team at Oracle is building a cloud-native platform for the Fusion Applications that operates at a large scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. We focus on transforming how Software Developers and DevOps engineers build cloud applications for enterprise customers using Oracle technologies.

We're looking for a Senior Director of Engineering with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, cloud computing, databases and building highly available data services. You should be a strong SW Engineering leader with a proven track record and expertise in software design and development of services and their capabilities within large scale cloud. You must have a proven ability to identify and execute on the deliverables you set. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through other managers, Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. etc.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of cloud computing, databases and software architecture to manage software design and development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to current and future design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision improvements to the architecture.

We need a leader with a passionate can-do attitude, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate while acting as a thought leader in your area of expertise in the product.
Define technology and operational strategy and supporting roadmaps
Manage the design, development, and operations of the team with focus on operations excellence and availability
Recruit and build out a diverse, capable and cohesive engineering team
Drive continuous improvement through the ability to see & understand the future state of Cloud Data Services
Ability to translate and message impactful business stories that drive action
Able to thrive in ambiguous situations, identify/create process, and governance where needed
Own and drive strategies that optimize performance
Identify, influence, and support key decision points that for the ultimate customer experience
Partner and maintain key relationships with Operations, Support, Product Management and Engineering organizations within Oracle
Develop and monitor metrics to measure key performance indicators and business performance
Ability to succeed through collaboration and navigate through other internal and external organizations and individuals
Ability to learn quickly and adjust to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude.
15+ years leading complex technical/ engineering product and cloud service teams with most of this experience in a cloud environment
15+ years of relevant work experience in cloud computing, cloud services, databases or big data or NO SQL technologies or data science and data analytics

US: Hiring Range: from $142,900 to $338,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
