Job Title: Entry Level / Maintenance Technician
Entry Level position We will train you! - paid on-the-job training - Day shift schedules with OT. As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform the change out of existing electric meters. Install module upgrades to gas meters and assume responsibility for the safe operation of a company vehicle, equipment, and tools. Perform up to standards within time frames outlined by the Field Supervisor and Project Manager. In addition, you will learn how to utilize the computer system to plan and complete your daily work.

Pay:
$22.00 - $27.00 an hour based on experience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Perform change out of existing electric utility meters and installation of module upgrades to gas meters.
Weekday and Weekend shifts may be required. Overtime required.
Identify and report to management all hazardous working conditions and specifically those that prohibit the safe exchange of meters.
Commitment to customer service and responding to the needs of internal and external customers in a professional manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision.
Ability to read meters and willingness to learn to operate new equipment and implement new procedures.
Ability to understand and obtain NY state required OQ i.e., #6 Inspecting for atmospheric corrosion, #70 Properties of natural gas, and #85 AOC of meter assembly.
Strong directional skills: the ability to read and understand maps via GPS instruments and websites, i.e., Garmin's, Google Maps, Waze, etc.
Computer and smartphone literate.
Ability to read maps and navigate in congested areas.
Independently manage time and workload to meet deadlines.
This is a minimum 40-hour workweek with Saturdays considered inclement weather make-up days.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Mechanical and/or electrical experience preferred.
Experience in the use of hand and power tools.
3+ years of driving experience with minimal non-moving violations.
License & Certifications:
A Valid Driver's License is required.
Driving Record clear of major moving violations.
Travel Requirements:
Willing to travel through the week preferred.
Lodging is provided by the company.

Safety:
Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
