Our Position: We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist with a focus in Benefit Administration and Employee Relations for our corporate office located in Williamsville, NY to assist in the administration of employee benefits, leaves, payroll and/or employee relations. This position may involve:
Administering various employee benefit programs, such as group life insurance, medical insurance, vision and dental insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan, flexible spending accounts, Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), etc.
Administering the worker's compensation program and effectively communicating with staff on their potential leave options.
Assisting in the tracking of disciplinary and termination metrics for monthly and yearly review.
Our Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am- 4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pm (40 hrs. per week)
Our Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field PLUS one year's related experience in the Human Resources field preferably in Benefits, Leave Administration, or Employee Relations.
OR
Associate's Degree in Business Administration or a related field PLUS two years' related experience in the Human Resources field preferably in Benefits, Leave Administration, or Employee Relations.
OR
High School or equivalency diploma PLUS three year's related experience in the Human Resources field preferably in Benefits, Leave Administration, or Employee Relations.
OR
Equivalent combination of education and relative experience.
PLUS
Strong expertise in the use of Microsoft Office Suite to especially include advanced Excel operations.
Working knowledge of HRIS systems, preferably Ceridian Dayforce

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Human Resources will be responsible for various assigned areas within the Benefits/Payroll department and Human Resources. May administer employee leave of absence program and benefits including such tasks as interpreting, processing, and maintaining employee benefit programs, employee records, and information presentations. May manage and track all employee Leave programs. May assist in the processing of payroll on a bi-weekly basis. May assist the Employee Relations Coordinator with disciplinary/employee relation issues and administration leave process. Performs a variety of related duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationship:
Receives direct supervision from the Associate Director of Human Resources.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Benefit Administration
Assists in the administration of various employee benefit programs, such as Health, group life insurance, medical insurance, vision and dental insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan, flexible spending accounts, Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), etc. Oversees all benefit related changes including new enrollments, COBRA coverage, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability and death claims.
Manage and conduct benefit informational/open enrollment sessions (i.e.: health/dental insurance, retirement, etc.) Schedule at multiple sites as needed.
Manage online enrollment process.
Assists in the timely reconciliation of monthly invoices for various benefit plans: life insurance, health insurance, cafeteria plan, etc.
May process terminations and send COBRA paperwork to be processed and tracked (COBRA payments).
Facilitates the monthly and yearly Affordable Care Act (ACA) process.
Responds to employee inquires, communicates and interprets benefit plan provisions to employees courteously and promptly.
Leave Administration
Explains and processes Workers Compensation and NYS Disability Insurance benefits for staff in a timely and courteous manner. Communicates with appropriate supervisors to ensure necessary payroll paperwork is generated and required medical release and return to work slips are received. Communicates with and generate reports via the different carriers.
Notifies employees of approved employee initiated Family and Medical leave requests, Paid Family Leave and other leave requests. Responsible for notification of employer- initiated requests. Ensures necessary payroll and benefit related paperwork is generated. Tracks length of leave, etc.
Works with the Employee Relations Coordinator with regard to the Administrative Leave process including placing staff on leave, tracking the length of leave, clearance and return from leave or separation of employment, and the benefits/payments associated with the time out of work. May assist in compiling and processing termination paperwork dependent on the case/situation.
Payroll Administration
Responds to miscellaneous payroll inquiries from staff in a timely and courteous manner.
May assist in/be responsible for the distribution of paychecks and taking live checks to the Post Office.
Responsible for agency generated payroll deductions (Delta, Regal).
Reviews staff timesheets for accuracy of hours, benefit time and managerial approvals.
Responsible for the reconciliation of specific employee deductions and creating the corresponding check requests for Fiscal
Responsible for compiling and distributing quarterly benefit time accrual reports to the Fiscal Department and managers
Will continually work on cross training to develop skills within the Department.
Reconcile outstanding payroll checks and reissue checks, if necessary
Run weekly overtime reports and make costing adjustments.
Employee Relations Administration
Tracks disciplinary and termination metrics with the use of Dayforce and presents quarterly and yearly metrics to the Dir of HR and the CHRO. Identifies trends and areas for improvement
As necessary, conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for improvement.
Assists managers and supervisors in preparing employee counseling reports and PIPs (Performance Improvement Plans).
May assist in maintaining and analyzing retention data using an internal database.
General Duties
May be responsible for the employee discount program/ticket program, ie., delta sonic, movie passes, etc.; to include ordering, processing requests, and completing monthly and quarterly audit.
Responsible for accurate database record keeping and set-up in HR system with emphasis on benefit plans and is proficient in running and compiling queries and reports in the HRIS system for monthly HR metrics.
Maintains complete confidentiality of all HR/PR information at all times.
Responds to all employment inquiries regarding reference checks and employment verifications
Shall remain current on legislative changes affecting current or future benefits administration and conveys pertinent information to applicable team members as needed.
Responsible for timely and accurate file maintenance.
Performs miscellaneous clerical functions and special projects as assigned.
All other duties as assigned.
